Traditionally, GenArt kicks of Los Angeles Fashion Weeks- with their highly regarded ‘Fresh Faces in Fashion’ bi-annual presentation. This past Thursday- as the last official event of LA Fashion Month, GenArt rocked the Peterson Museum as part of their newly formed partnership with Rock Fashion Week. Herewith, some highlights:

"For Spring 2010, we were really inspired by the concept of future and how every generation or decade seems to have their own visual image of "the future". We contrasted that idea with a sense of the past with tribalism and primitivism. We love the idea that those two concepts can coexist: tribal influences with clean future-like refinery. With that in mind, we used a lot of "primitive" techniques in the clothes such as wrapping, knotting, macrame, and fringe, but used them in a way that was clean, chic, and wearable. We always try to create pieces that are unique, but at the same time ultra wearable, so that our girl feels truly special when she wears our pieces."

Wonder if the white splotch marks on the model’s chins are supposed to be a nod to tribalism, or an ode to Perez Hilton?

The 3rd dress was so fabulous and sexy. I like the design.

the 4th and 5th dresses are amazingg and this collection is 2009, and the white mark on the chin and future/primitive quality reminds me of alexander wang's recent 2011 collection with the white paste in the girls hair.. basically leyendecker is so so far ahead of the trend!

Christmas is probably the most special day of the year for children. One thing that makes it special is the popular tradition of Santa Claus.
