We support the efforts of the Los Angeles Fashion Council to send five Los Angeles-based designers to London next month, to represent the L.A. design scene in a special showcase during London Fashion Week.
Your help is urgently requested to support a Kickstarter campaign, which will make this important L.A. fashion trade mission financially viable. There are only 5 days remaining in the Kickstarter campaign, and 90% still to be funded! Please support the cause right now by clicking here.
In order to make Los Angeles Fashion Week more visible globally, these design tours, co-located at internationally regarded Fashion Week events, are very important. In the words of L.A. Fashion Council Co-Founder, Kelsi Smith:
"The Los Angeles Fashion community is very insular - no one comes to see fashion week from other cities. Most of the journalists and bloggers in THIS city, don't come out and support it. There's lots of reasons why this is the case. SO by taking the designers OUT of Los Angeles we're showing them off to important people in already existing global fashion platforms who can spread the word about Los Angeles fashion. The more people that see our homegrown talent. The better!"
Four designers have been pre-selected to attend the trade mission to London: Mila Hermanovski, Bryan Hearns, Alana Hale and Curly V. The lucky 5th is soon to be announced via a Facebook contest.
