We delighted in the Kevan Hall Spring 2013 evening wear collection, and his White Label bridal collection, staged a few days ago in the designer’s chic Beverly Boulevard atelier. It was an intimate soiree for press, buyers, society figures and celebrities, under a luminous chandelier. “Desperate Housewives” actress Teri Hatcher was amongst the stars present, accompanied by her darling daughter, Emerson, and they both twinkled in Kevan Hall sequined mesh dresses.
The looks were staggering in their beauty and elegance. To the soft music of a string quartet, the lovely models paraded look after dazzling look. It was easy to imagine these gorgeous gowns on fashionable ladies at summer parties in the Hamptons, Grosse Pointe, or on the red carpets at Hollywood premiers. We caught up with Kevan backstage after the show, and he told us he “wanted to bring pretty back.” Indeed you have, sir. Lots of ribbons and bows!
Kevan Hall is one of the greatest design talents going today, in the iconic lineage of such designers past as Oleg Cassini, Balenciaga and Yves Saint Laurent. He’s an artist who just seems to get it right all the time. If Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn and Jackie Kennedy were alive today, they would absolutely seek out Kevan Hall. He would design for them, and they would look more fabulous than ever.
